Never Fear I AM Here…

10 11 2009

Well friends, it has been a while since there was last any news from this fishingfiend. But I HAVE returned. I hope you will forgive my absence but I was away, in a far away and strange land…Gloucester to be precise. But like a boomerang I came back to where the wind howls, the waves crash against the cliffs and Sea gulls shit undiscriminating on everybody.

This week I have been mostly catching…Eels

1 07 2009

Well there is a turn up for the books. Had a nice session yesterday, started off trout fishing at Tingwall from about 0900hrs until 1745hrs. The sun was beating down but a bit of a breeze kept me nice and cool. That may explain why I didn’t feel the sunburn kicking in. I have to admit that when I go fishing I WILL forget to take something. I went spin fishing once to a loch down the road only to realize when I got there I had forgotten…

Knitting. The way ahead?

21 06 2009

Well the holiday came to an end, and I departed once more for my little island home. And I don’t think I have ever been so happy to see it. It may never get proper warm here, no pubs worth of mentioning, no decent tackle shops but it does have something that makes a fishingfiend happy…FISH! Unlike the place where I went for my little holiday.

Away game…

4 06 2009

Well my dear readers, this shall be the last post before I go away on my holiday. I won’t be back until the 17th and I doubt I will post straight away, as I will be too shattered from catching millions of fish (hopefully) and travelling.  I hope to see you all here when I’m back, and I’ll hopefully have some nice fish pictures to share with you.

So until I return I wish you all tight lines and happy angling.

Coalfish galore…

1 06 2009

What a session I had on Saturday. I spent my morning tying myself a couple of rigs, in preparation for my holiday at the end of this week. But I thought it would be a wise move to go and try out my home creations first. So all I needed were some co-operative fish, and where better than Hellister?

Ambitious fish…

28 05 2009

Okay, less ambitious and more unlucky. I was fishing at Clickimin loch today, the morning started off promising, warm, windstill and a couple of lazy clouds hanging in the sky. Well some of those clouds were not completly lazy, they had formed into a mackerel pattern. And that always worries me, or at least it does when it’s a nice day. For they mean changeable weather!

Two for two…

23 05 2009

I have finally managed to bag a trout of a decent size. Which strangely pleases me. And all thanks to a loch which at first didn’t inspire any confidence in me. I had read about this loch in my local anglers guide, but the guide was slightly out of date and I had heard very little from the loch since then.

Three little fishes…

21 05 2009

Wow, I’m really spoiling you guys, two posts in one day. And one complete with new fish photo. I bet  you are all just so excited. It was such a gorgeous day today, warm, windstill and slightly overcast. Perfect fishing weather! So off I toddled, over the hill and to my local loch.

A fishy tail…

21 05 2009

Please forgive me for the cheesy title, but I couldn’t think of anything that wouldn’t have been equally dairy productish.

Okay having gotten my apology out of the way, let’s get to the reason for my silly title.

The curse has been lifted…

19 05 2009

First of all a quick apology for taking so long to share my latest trip with you, which was on Friday. Things have been just a little hectic here. But now without further ado, here is the latest instalment of the adventures of the fishingfiend.
